How reliable are taking two pregnancy tests that were negative after a missed period?


She took the first one a day after a missed period and it was negative. And she took the other one 8 days after we took the first one and it was negative also. How reliable is that? She also took them both on her first pee in the morning. Also, she's on depo.

KBKeety 		Rule of thumb, if you have negative tests and no period get a blood test and figure out what's going on. With later ovulation you can expect your period (or positive) later but 2 weeks after? Id get a serum test as those are most conclusive. A Quantitative Serum test will give you the precise amount of hCG. I never trust a test until I get my period.

KBKeety 		Usually a false negative is due to testing too early. the results are extremely accurate once it is after due date of menstruation. Good luck to you both!

KBKeety 		Depo can make you not have a period, so it's probably accurate.

KBKeety 		the tests should have been correct at that point. If she still hasn't had a period, I suggest setting up a doctors appointment to see why she isn't having a period - if nothing else call and leave a message for the doctor to see if they want to see her.
